It's How It Really Is

As writers, we are often asked where we come up with all of our ideas. It's one thing to say they just come to us or something like, I don't know, it just happens.

The truth is, every day brings with it new things to write about. And now we can show everyone with this.

My Own Motivation

Here I am, sitting, staring at the computer screen as if by some magical accident words will appear on it that actually make sense. It's one of those common moments for me. I want to write something, but good golly if I know what it is.

With this blog being as new as it is, I don't really know what direction to go in. But I guess that's a good thing. It can still go anywhere, everywhere. It can have a mind of it's own which eventually focuses in on what it is meant to become.

But for now, I search around for ideas, hints, glimmers of what this blog should be about. And I find a few that I have an interest in. Those who are, in their own different way, inspire me in various directions.

Just a quick list I've come across include:
I know there are probably hundreds if not thousands or even zillions of other blogs for writers out there. These are just the first I have come across that relate to my own thinking at this moment.

And that's a pretty fine place to start.

Your First Non-Fiction Book

Hi All. Yes, this blog doesn't get the attention it desserves. So I decided to hunt down a video from Dan Poynter about how to go about writing your first non0fiction book.

Let me know what you think and if there should be more posted.

Keep on Writing.

Sing Your Song, Write It

I know it's been a while. What can I say, 3 months between posts is just a tad longer than even my unmotivated self would like to admit to. But it it what it is.

So what to write about that might make it worth the wait?

I came across
Josh Hosler's site where he has a collection of #1 songs on pretty much any day (in recent history).

For me, it was "Paperback Writer" by the Beatles. Now for me, I wish I would have known that years ago. Maybe it is/was a sign of what I was meant to do later on in my life instead of just fighting the thoughts that went back and forth.

Now It's Your Turn...

Look up your birthday, anniversary, or other memorable date in your life, and find the #1 song from that day. And write about it for 15 minutes.

Leave a comment about what you wrote.

To Be A Better Writer

I don't know it is just timing or what, but it seems someone whom I read rather often has published a post about what it takes to become a better writer not long after I started this new blog.

Scott Ginsberg, Whom I wrote about when I mentioned the 200 Writing Prompts ebook , has written a post this morning about that it takes to become a better writer.

Writing every day, writing without planning, writing because by doing it makes you better at it, are all but a couple of the ways he talks about.

There are others, but I am sure you will get something from his list of 23 ways to improve what you do.

Now for my question...
