All About Me

Hey there, and thanks for stopping by. I am guessing you got here by choice as opposed to some Jedi mind trick, (which I swear to truly give up some day). So whichever the case as to how you got here, you're here. Welcome.

So what shall we do now that we're here in this quiet spot on the world's wide web? Why don't I just sit here and type about me for a little while. After all, the words at the top of the page do say Meet David. I guess it's the least I can do, (though I am sure I could do even less, but I won't push the issue for the moment).

To get things started, it's only fair I let you know (in helping verb style), that I am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been, has, have, had, do, does, did, may, must, might, can, could, shall, should, will and would be the Unmotivated Motivational Writer. (that's me leaning on the wall).

I say this because being a Gemini, I tend to fluctuate (biggest word used thus far), between various things I am doing. I mean, am I motivational? Or am I just a guy writing motivational things? Do I know what I am writing about or am I doing this so I too can learn something along the way.

There was a time when I was strictly writing motivational / self-help / David-I-need-you're-words-of-wisdom-to-help-get-me-off-my-butt-and-accomplish-something, stuff. But somewhere along the way, I got too preachy, too you gotta do this, too do as I say not as I do, too this stuff might work if I actually listened to myself, too I wonder how many more ways I can write about getting off one's butt as I sit on mine writing.

So I flip-flopped (and I don't even wear sandals, (insert ALF laugh here ha)! So that's where I am today. Writing what I don't know. I decided to go that as opposed to the traditional Write What You Know stuff they tell you in writing school because there are now more possibilities of stuff than if it were what I know, or think I know or could learn over time.

And for those wondering about the prompt ebooks, those came in handy just to get me focused on things. Have I written anything based on the prompts, Well, no. But I intend to do that as well. But could involve that Jedi mind trick.

For those who prefer a third-person version:

David has been a pin chaser, grounds-crew worker, recreation center employee, vacuum-er, guest columnist, layout assistant, audio visual specialist, IT professional, boss, editor, soccer referee, one-time one-day magician, refrigerator defroster/watery mess cleaner upper, pooper scooper, ezine publisher, blogger, typer, presenter, and Fruit Ninja player.

He has written 3 ebooks (with actual words which formed sentences), 2 writing prompt ebooks (with words that may or may not form a sentence, but stops at a single line each), and 1 ebook (which is a collection of the 3 previously mentioned ebooks rolled into this single ebook.

David is now branching out by focusing in on the basics of what seems to be about everything he says he doesn't know, but we all know better. It's just a hope it is done in a funny way.
